Orak Island, located off the Gulf of Bodrum, is actually the most beautiful and famous island in and around Bodrum. It is a wonderful place that leaves visitors in awe and makes them want to return. In fact, we have hundreds of guests who join this tour every single year. 🙂 You can reach Orak Island—which rivals the Maldives with its crystal-clear water and turquoise color—with our boat departing from Kumbahçe Halikarnas Harbor in central Bodrum. We would be very happy to have you among us on our tour, which is organized every day throughout the summer season.

Frequently Asked Questions About Orak Island Boat Tour

1- Where Does the Boat Depart From?

The Orak Island Boat departs from Halikarnas Harbor in the center of Bodrum. There are two different harbors in central Bodrum where boats depart from: Halikarnas Harbor and Bodrum Marina, which is why they are sometimes confused. The Orak Island boat departs from Halikarnas Harbor, also known as Kumbahçe Harbor. Our sales representative will send you the exact location of the boat, the name of the vessel, and other details via WhatsApp. Please check if the location link opens correctly and follow the indicated location to avoid any potential delays on the day of the tour.

2- What Time Does the Boat Depart and Return?

Our boat leaves the harbor at 11:00 AM. However, minor delays of about 10 minutes can occur on busy days during the season. The return time for the boat is 6:30 PM. However, during periods when the sun begins to set earlier, the return time is moved up to 6:00 PM.

Unfortunately, there is no boat going to Orak Island after 11:00 AM. Therefore, we kindly ask you to be careful not to be late and to be at the harbor 15 minutes before the departure time. We recommend taking Bodrum’s summer traffic into account and heading out accordingly. 🙂 If you wish to start a tour at a later time, you can only do so by arranging a private boat tour in Bodrum.

3- What is the Capacity of the Orak Island Boat Tour?

Our vessel is an elegant 54-person, 2-deck gulet.

  • Upper Deck: Features both a sunbathing area and a shaded area with an awning.
  • Lower Deck: Consists entirely of a shaded dining area. We offer a more boutique and pleasant environment rather than crowded and noisy giant boats.

4- Are There Smaller Boats Going to Orak Island?

Yes, it is possible to find smaller boats if you wish to book a private tour. However, if you are joining a mixed group tour, our boat is one of the lowest-capacity vessels you can find in Bodrum.

Furthermore, since Orak Island is somewhat distant, going with a small boat would make the journey take longer and cause the boat to sway excessively in the event of wind. This could negatively affect your holiday experience.

5- What Hygiene Measures are Taken on the Boat?

Our boat is cleaned regularly twice a day, in the morning and evening.

6- Does the Boat Only Go to Orak Island?

No, our Orak Island tour has 4 different stops. Because the longest swimming break is given at Orak Island and it is the most beautiful stop, the tour is known as the Orak Island Boat Tour. Our other stops are Rabbit Point (Tavşanburnu), German Bay (Alman Koyu), and Kızılburun. We have swimming breaks of 1.5 hours at Orak Island, 30 minutes at Rabbit Point, 45 minutes at German Bay, and 1 hour at Kızılburun.

7- How Can We Make a Reservation?

Creating a reservation is very easy and does not require any prepayment. You can call us directly at the number listed above or write to us via WhatsApp.

The information we need is: the number of people, the tour date, and a first and last name. After receiving this information, we will send you the boat’s location, its name, and the time you should be at the harbor via WhatsApp. Additionally, we send a digital ticket for you to show to the staff on the boat in the morning, and your reservation is complete. You then make the payment in cash on the boat on the day of the tour.

On the morning of the tour, approximately 2 hours before departure, we will contact you via WhatsApp for confirmation. If we don’t receive an answer, we will call you; if we cannot reach you, we will put your reservation on hold. If we receive a response from you, we maintain your reservation. In case of a possible cancellation, we kindly ask that you contact us in advance.

8- Is Credit Card Accepted on the Boat?

Unfortunately, credit cards are not accepted on our boat. However, if you do not want to carry too much cash, you can make a transfer or EFT to the captain via mobile banking during the day.

9- What Do You Serve for Food?

We serve grilled chicken, pasta, and salad for lunch. Unfortunately, fish or meatball options are not provided as a menu included in the price by any of the tour boats in Bodrum.

10- Can We Bring Outside Drinks?

Our tours are not “all-inclusive.” Since our staff earns income from beverage sales, bringing outside drinks (except water) is prohibited. You may bring your own water and personal snacks.

11- What Should We Bring with Us?

Items such as towels, swimming goggles, sunscreen, and hats can be brought. If you wish to use them, you can also bring snorkels, fins, or hand-lines.
