More Details of the Bosphorus Tour in Istanbul

1- Which regions will we visit on the Bosphorus tour in Istanbul?

On the Istanbul Bosphorus Cruise, we visit a total of 7 points. Some of these routes are panoramic points where we stop to take photos, while other regions consist of museums that we visit.

At each stop, our guide provides you with detailed information about the history and culture of the area.

Sites we will visit:

  • Bosphorus Boat Tour: Seeing the Bosphorus Bridge is the highlight of the Bosphorus tour in Istanbul. It is incredible to witness. Surpassing traditional Istanbul architecture, it is one of the largest suspension bridges in the world, connecting Europe and Asia.
  • Panoramic View of the Bosphorus Bridge: The most iconic bridge in Istanbul is the Bosphorus Bridge. It is the oldest of the three suspension bridges crossing the Bosphorus Strait. Opened in 1973, this gravity-anchored steel suspension bridge stretches from the European neighborhood of Ortaköy to the Asian district of Üsküdar.
  • City Walls: Many of the world’s oldest cities have walls extending around their outer edges. However, the Walls of Constantinople, which encircle what is now Istanbul, are filled with more history than most cities can boast.
  • Golden Horn: The Golden Horn, a horn-shaped estuary, divides the European side of Istanbul. One of the best natural harbors in the world, it was the center of Byzantine and Ottoman naval and commercial interests.
  • Spice Bazaar: The Egyptian (Spice) Bazaar, built in 1664 at the southern end of the Galata Bridge near the Eminönü ferry docks, is filled with exotic fragrances. Spices, dried fruits, cheeses, jams, nuts, seeds, and Turkish delights fill the shops, alongside jewelry and other high-end items.
  • Rumeli Fortress (Panoramic View): The Rumeli Fortress is one of the best parts of the Bosphorus tour. It is located on a hill on the European side, at the narrowest point of the strait. It was built by Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II between 1451 and 1452 just before the conquest of Constantinople.
  • Camlica Hill: Camlica Hill is one of the highest points in Istanbul, sitting 267 meters above sea level on the Asian side. It offers wonderful panoramic views of the city, the Sea of Marmara, and the Bosphorus Strait.
  • Beylerbeyi Palace: The beautiful Beylerbeyi Palace is located on the Asian shore, just north of the Bosphorus Bridge. It was built in 1865 by order of Sultan Abdülaziz. The palace served as a summer residence for sultans and hosted many foreign guests, including the Shah of Persia and King Edward VIII. With its pavilions on the waterfront and its marble facade, the palace reflects a fanciful Rococo style. Situated in a magnolia garden, it looks like something out of a dream. During your Bosphorus cruise in Istanbul, you will visit this contemporary Ottoman building that combines Eastern and Western artistic movements.
