• Galata Tower: Considered one of the oldest towers in the world and a symbol of Istanbul, Galata Tower (Galata Kulesi) was included in UNESCO’s World Heritage Tentative List in 2013. One of the key structures defining Istanbul’s silhouette, it served as a fire watchtower for many years.
• The Walls of Constantinople: These defensive stone walls surrounded and protected the city of Constantinople since its founding as the new capital of the Eastern Roman Empire by Constantine the Great. With numerous modifications throughout history, they were the last great fortification system of antiquity.
• Orthodox Patriarchate and St. George’s Church: Located in the Fener neighborhood on the shores of the Golden Horn, these sites share the same courtyard. The Patriarchate remains the mother church of Greek Orthodox Christianity worldwide, representing over 300 million people, and has maintained its center in Istanbul for over seventeen centuries.
• Fener and Balat Neighborhoods (Panoramic view): The old Greek quarter of Fener and the nearby Jewish quarter of Balat, situated on the southern shore of the Golden Horn, possess a rich historical heritage. Recently developed into popular tourist spots, these areas are famous for colorful squares, cafes, restaurants, and antique shops.
