1- HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?

Due to the high popularity of balloon flights in Cappadocia, we suggest booking well in advance, especially if you wish to fly on a specific date.

2- HOW DO I PAY FOR MY BALLOON FLIGHT?

While our other tours require a 20% deposit, balloon ride reservations require full payment upfront. You can pay online via our 3D Secure payment system. We accept Euros, Turkish Lira, British Pounds, and US Dollars.

3- WHEN IS A FLIGHT CANCELED?

Ballooning requires good weather. We do not fly with constant winds above 11 km/h (7 mph), rain, snow, or fog. We also do not fly when thunderstorms threaten the area. Many other conditions can affect the safety of the flight, all of which are carefully considered by the pilot. The final decision rests with the pilot. If your scheduled flight is canceled, it will be rescheduled at no additional cost. If you cannot reschedule, all payments will be refunded in full.

4- CAN CHILDREN FLY?

Children aged 0 to 6 are not permitted to fly. To maximize safety and enjoyment, our pilots only fly with children old enough to understand the pre-flight briefing and tall enough to see over the edge of the basket without assistance (usually at least 6 years old). Parents should consider that small children may become bored or restless standing in the basket for an hour.

5- DO CAPPADOCIA BALLOON FLIGHTS RUN YEAR-ROUND?

Yes, we fly 12 months a year. However, there is a higher chance of cancellation due to inclement weather from October to March.

6- WHEN WILL YOU NOTIFY US OF OUR PICK-UP TIME?

We will email you directly or contact your hotel to inform you of the precise pick-up time one day before your flight.

7- HOW WILL I GET BACK TO MY HOTEL?

The balloon is followed by a chase vehicle, ground crew, and the transfer van. They are in constant radio contact with the pilot and will be at the landing site when the balloon touches down. Once the balloon is packed and we have enjoyed the champagne toast, you will be transferred back to your hotel in time to join any additional tours booked for that day.

8- HOW LONG IS THE TOUR?

From start to finish, your adventure lasts about 3 hours. Preparation and inflation take about 30 minutes. The flight itself lasts approximately one hour for standard flights and 90 minutes for luxury flights. Post-flight celebrations and certificate presentation take about 30 minutes, followed by a 30-minute return trip to your hotel.

9- HOW MANY PEOPLE FLY IN ONE BASKET?

Balloons in Cappadocia come in different sizes, with capacities ranging from 8 to 24 people. Prices vary depending on basket capacity. Passengers stand in different compartments, allowing everyone to enjoy spectacular views.

10- WHAT IF MY FLIGHT IS CANCELED DUE TO UNFORESEEN WEATHER?

If weather prevents flying, your flight may be delayed until the following morning. We recommend booking your flight for your first available morning in Cappadocia. If canceled or delayed, all payments are refunded in full. Tickets can be transferred to alternative dates and are valid for one year, subject to our cancellation policy.

11- DO WE TAKE OFF BEFORE SUNRISE?

We usually take off with the sun—the perfect time of day for great photos and videos of the valleys and lunar landscapes. Occasionally, weather conditions require taking off slightly after sunrise.

12- CAN PREGNANT WOMEN FLY?

No. If you are or believe you might be pregnant, you should not fly due to the possibility of a bumpy landing. However, we are happy to take you to the launch site to see off your friends or family and meet them at the landing site.

13- HOW ARE BALLOON PILOTS LICENSED?

The Civil Aviation Authority issues licenses to candidates who pass written exams, complete prescribed flight hours, perform solo flights, and pass flight tests and medical declarations. Balloons are subject to regular safety checks and registered like any other aircraft.

14- HOW DOES A HOT AIR BALLOON WORK IN CAPPADOCIA?

Since hot air is lighter than cold air, it rises. Therefore, the balloon ride must be large enough to contain enough hot air to lift the weight from the ground. By heating the air inside, it becomes lighter than the outside air, causing it to float. To land, the air inside is allowed to cool, and the balloon slowly descends. Altimeters, variometers, and temperature sensors are the instruments used. The pilot changes direction by ascending or descending to levels where the wind is blowing in the desired direction. The balloon is made of reinforced nylon called hyperlast, which is lightweight but very strong, and coated with polyurethane to protect against UV rays. Passengers fly in a wicker basket, which is both flexible and resistant.

15- WHAT TYPE OF CLOTHING IS ADVISABLE?

Consider bringing a light jacket, as it is cooler at higher altitudes than on the ground. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
