Half-Day Excursion: Jeep Tour in Cappadocia
This trip starts at 10:00 AM and ends around 02:00 PM, or starts at 01:00 PM and ends around 05:00 PM. We will pick you up from your hotel and begin our adventure by driving from Goreme to Uchisar. Our first stop is the majestic viewpoint overlooking Goreme. From the panoramic viewpoint, we will drive to the village of Ibrahimpaşa (Greek name: Babayan). There is a bridge in the center crossing a gorge dating back to 1939, recently renovated to look brand new. On either side, you will see fine Cappadocia stone houses with highly decorative facades rising amidst newer constructions. On the other side of the village, a path leads down to a glorious, untouched valley.
Our next stop will be the Pancarlık Church (Beetle Valley). It is a monastic church located within a group of rock cones. The flat ceiling of the church is still completely covered with frescoes in which reds and greens predominate, as are the upper part of the small apse and large sections of the north and south walls.
Not far away is the Sarica Church, which was recently discovered (it was buried under mounds of earth) and has been fully restored. It stands in splendid isolation and is only open from April until the end of October.
Then we will drive to Gomeda Valley to explore one of Cappadocia’s hidden beauties. This valley is known for being the greenest valley in Cappadocia.
Our final stop will be the village of Mustafapaşa, an ancient Greek town inhabited by Greeks until the population exchange of 1924. You can visit the old Greek mansions and take a short walk through the town.
